The solution

The workflow polls the YouTube commentThreads endpoint every minute for all comments on the channel, filtered to the last 10 minutes to keep the volume light. A code node walks the replies array and drops any thread the channel has already replied to, so nothing ever gets a duplicate. What remains goes to Gemini 2.5 Flash with a prompt that requires plain text (no escaping, no newlines), 1 to 2 sentences, matched to the commenter's language, warm, and never revealing it is AI. The reply posts back through the YouTube API as a normal comment reply.
